Week 2

Well after a very busy time with work I can finally get back to updating this blog, and let you know how I am getting on. As was said by Bob Proctor “When I started I worked full time at my job and part time aon my business”. Eventually I look to change it to be working full time on my business.

This week has been all about improving the appearance of the blog to make it look much better. As you will know from week 1 it was just the bare bones of a site. It is now starting to look and feel something I can feel proud of.

The first thing that was done was to install a page biulder on to the site thereby enabling the theme to be uploaded and the site to start taking shape. For this OptimisePress is suggested, which I am slowly learning the various parts, and will sometime hope to produce a tutorial on.

One the plug in has been installed and enabled we can then upload the theme that comes with OtimisePress. Even this simple bit makes it look more like a proper site, and its now ready to be built out.

Having ordered the graphics from Steve at GFX-1 it is time to upload them to the header, footer, post image and favicon. I have to say he has done a really good job.

It is now a case of writing an About Me page to go on the site, something that will evolve over time as I get more proficient and writing our first major post. That was the one I wrote about the first week.

There is still a certain amount of apprehension as all this is new to me but I have to say that the support that comes with this coaching is second to none. You have full access to John and his team, by phone and support desk.

The techical aspect of setting the site up I have found to be reasonably easy but I have to be honest the writing side has been the bit i have found to be the hardest. I was always nmore on the science rather than the language side. As with everything though you have to start somewhere and learn. As the old analogy goes you never got straight on a bike and rode off, and this is the same. Practice, practice and hopefully you will see an improvement as the weeks go on

So now we are ready to move onto the next part of putting our blog together in nexts weeks training and I look forward to bringing that to you.

If you want the chance to also work with John one to one and learn how to build a substainable business then go and watch this webinar to discover how he can help you.
